FORDE ABBEY

Founded in 1140 it became one of the most learned and wealthy monasteries in the land. The house contains a collection of elaborately decorated plaster ceilings, exquisite pictures and fine furniture. Set in 30 acres of world famous gardens dating from the early 18th century.
