TEMPLE GROUNDS: Richmond

TEMPLE GROUNDS: An area of outstanding scenic, historic and in part scientific interest lying within the Richmond Conservation Area.

Access

Entry from the Green, Richmond, adjacent to Yorke Square car park. ACCESS The repair and conservation of Temple Grounds is being assisted by the Countryside Stewardship scheme. Due to the difficult conditions of parts of Temple Grounds, the Permissive Access is only available from the Green and along the river bank in Millfield as per blue line on map attached. Details will be displayed on the notice board at the entrance to Temple Grounds from the Green, adjacent to Yorke Square car park. The permissive access will be allowed only during the periods set out below in order that the pasture may be properly grazed: 1st - 14th of each month Access to the Temple Grounds during the times of closure may be obtained in advance through the contact point.

The owner's binding undertakings

To undertake reasonable steps for the maintenance of the land and the preservation of its character and for securing reasonable access to the public. To undertake to observe the terms and conditions of the Heritage Landscape Management Plan. To undertake to provide appropriate publicity of the public access arrangements, in particular by means of mapboards set up on site and by the inclusion of the permissive access on the County map of permissive access being prepared, published and distributed by North Yorkshire County Council. To notify the Capital Tax Office, Ferrers House, PO Box 38, Castle Meadow Road, Nottingham, NG2 1BB immediately possession of the property is reliquished whether by sale, gift or otherwise.
