SLOLEY ESTATE

An historic and scenic Estate, characteristic of north-east Norfolk.

Access

Directions: The Sloley Estate lies some 12 miles north of Norwich on the B1150 road to North Walsham. North of the hamlet of Scottow, turn east towards Smallburgh (opposite the North Walsham Rugby Ground). The main part of the estate lies to the west of the railway. Access Details: Virtually all of the estate may be seen from a network of small roads. There are two permissive rights of way. Both may be used by horses and pedestrians. Estate tours may be arranged through contact with: S N Gorton, Sloley Hall, Norfolk NR12 8HA, following suitable notice.

The owner's binding undertakings

To draw up and agree a Landscape Management Plan with the Countryside Agency within 2 years of designation, to include land and property management and public access conditions. To supply IR (Capital Taxes) with an annual report showing the year's preservation measures, the record of public access and progress with or under the Landscape Management Plan. To notify IR (Capital Taxes) Ferrers House, PO Box 38, Castle Meadow Road, Nottingham NG2 1BB immediately possession of the property, or any part of it, is relinquished by sale, gift, death or any other means. To take all reasonable steps for the maintenance of the property, the preservation of its character and for securing reasonable access to the public. In particular to observe the detailed steps and comply with the requirements set out in the FIRST SCHEDULE hereto.
