Access
Guided Tours available on 25 days a year on one weekday during the 5 weeks in May, June or July each year. Tours to be booked through the National Gallery of Scotland as per contact point. The tour includes the 1 hour journey to and return from the Scottish Borders to view the collection in its natural setting. Numbers for each tour are limited so early booking is advisable. Access is available at other times for research or study whether or not as part of an academic course, by making an appointment through the Gallery on production of reasonable proof of identity.

The owner's binding undertakings
To undertake with respect to the collection that until the collection is disposed of whether by sale or gift or otherwise: (a) the collection will be kept permanently in the United Kingdom and will not leave it temporarily except for a purpose and a period approved by the Revenue; (b) reasonable steps will be taken for the preservation of the collection; (c) the public shall be given access to the collection by tours arranged through the National Gallery of Scotland, access is available at other times for research or study whether or not as part of an academic course, by making an appointment through the Gallery on production of reasonable proof of identity. (d) in addition to the steps at (a) to (c) above, the terms of the undertaking shall be publicised by: (i) providing, at no more that reasonable cost, a copy of the undertaking, omitting the names of those giving it, to any memb…
