The present church was built in Romanesque yet highly original style in 1870-72 by the Weld family.

Access

Directions: Take A35 from Bridport to Chideock; then turn right to North Chideock. The Chapel is half mile on the right. Access Details: Open every day of the year: 10am-4pm.

The owner's binding undertakings

Until the property is disposed of whether by sale or gift or otherwise: (i) to take all reasonable steps for the maintenance repair and preservation of the Chapel, and, having full regard to the architectural and historic interest of the Chapel where necessary. a. to eradicate any wet and dry rot and any major beetle infestation. b. to repair roofs and any rainwater goods in permanent and suitable materials. c. to repair stonework (in appropriate matching stone) and brickwork in so far as repairs are necessary to protect the fabric of the building. d. to carry out repairs necessary to maintain the historic interiors. (ii) To provide flowers (when available) for use in the Chapel. (iii) To allow public access to the Chapel every day of the year.
