For details of opening times please follow the website link shown. Directions: By road: Burghley is just off the main A1 Great North Road, 90 miles north of London and 15 miles north of Peterborough. From the A1 north or southbound, brown 'tourism' signs indicate the route to the house. All other approaches to Stamford carry similar signage. By rail: The closest mainline station is Peterborough, which can be reached from London Kings Cross in under an hour. From Peterborough there is a frequent connection to Stamford. Taxis are readily available at both Peterborough and Stamford stations. The House is approximately 1 1/2 miles from Stamford station; there is a pleasant walking route through the Deer Park in fine weather.
