Access

Guided Tours available on 28 days a year during the Spring, Summer and early Autumn. Tours to be booked through contact point. Numbers for each tour are limited so early booking is advisable. Access 2012: 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th July; 12th, 19th, 22nd and 26th September 3rd, 10th and 17th October. Access is available at other times for research or study whether or not as part of an academic course, by making an appointment through the House Manager as below on production of reasonable proof of identity. Access is also available for specialist groups by pre-booked tours through the House Manager from 2013

To undertake with respect to each of the objects that until it is disposed of whether by sale or gift or otherwise: (a) to keep it permanently in the United Kingdom and not to remove it temporarily except for a purpose and a period approved by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC); (b) to take reasonable steps for its preservation; (c) to take the following steps to secure reasonable access to the public (i) the public shall be given access to the objects by guided tours of Longford Castle advertised through and arranged with the assistance of the National Gallery ("the National Gallery Tours") on 28 days each year ("the access days") and by appointment at other times of the year in accordance with paragraph 3(c)(ii) below.
