
BAMBURGH CASTLE
The home of the Armstrong family. The Norman Keep has been the stronghold for nearly nine centuries. This castle was the first to succumb to artillery fire - that of Edward IV. The views from the ramparts are unsurpassed and take in Holy Island, the Farne Islands, one of Northumberland's finest beaches and landwards, the Cheviot Hills.
