The owner's binding undertakings
1. To undertake until the property is earlier disposed of whether by sale or gift or otherwise: (b) to take reasonable steps for its maintenance, preservation and repair including: iv) The house will be maintained in good repair with due regard to its historical importance including where necessary Eradicating any dry and wet rot and any major beetle infestations; Repairing roofs and rainwater goods in permanent and suitable materials; Repairing stonework (in appropriate stone) and brickwork insofar as repairs are necessary to protect the fabric of the building; Repairing and repainting or treating external woodwork iv) To procure on terms of reference to be decided in consultation with English Heritage: within 12 months after designation, a condition survey of the house with recommendations for prioritised repairs with appropriate time scale.
