The owner's binding undertakings

1. We undertake with respect to the Archive that during our lifetimes or until it is earlier disposed of whether by sale or gift or otherwise: (a) to keep the Archive, as a collection, permanently in the United Kingdom and not to remove it temporarily except for a purpose and a period approved by HM Revenue & Customs Inheritance Tax (HMRC/IHT); (b) to take reasonable steps for the preservation of the Archive: (c) to take the following steps to secure reasonable access to the public: (i) the public will be able to view the Archive which will be on long term loan to the Hertfordshire Record Office (HRO). (ii) if the loan to the HRO is terminated by the HRO, we will agree with HMRC/IHT alternative arrangements for providing the public with access to the Archive.
