The owner's binding undertakings
1. We undertake with respect to the collection, that during our respective lifetimes or until it is disposed of whether by sale or gift or otherwise: (a) to keep the collection as a collection permanently in the United Kingdom and not to remove it or any part of it temporarily except for a purpose and period approved by HM Revenue and Customs ("HMRC") (b) to take reasonable steps for its preservation; (c) to take the following steps to secure reasonable access to the public (i) the collection will be on indefinite loan to The Royal Engineers Museum, Brompton Barracks, Chatham, Kent ME4 4UG ("the Museum") (ii) if the loan is terminated by the Museum, we shall agree with HMRC alternative arrangements for providing the public with access to the collection.
