Items from this collection can be seen as part of a continuous rotation at Lowther Castle. When items are not on display as part of the rotation they will be available to view by prior appointment . Please arrange viewing by contacting Anne Forrester.

The owner's binding undertakings

We undertake with respect to the Collection that until all or any part of it is disposed of whether by sale or gift or otherwise: (a) to keep the Collection, as a Collection, permanently in the United Kingdom and not to remove it temporarily except for a purpose and a period approved by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC); (b) to take reasonable steps for its preservation; (c) to take the following steps to secure reasonable access to the public (i) the collections in parts 1 - 4 of the Schedule will be on loan for display at the V&A Museum (the Museum), Cromwell Road, South Kensington, London SW7 2RL (the loan arrangement) (ii) if the loan arrangements are terminated by the Museum, we shall agree with HMRC alternative arrangements for providing the public with access to the Collection.
