
At JOHN RYLANDS LIBRARY, the Crutchley Manuscripts/Muniments
Muniments of the Coke family of Longford, Derbyshire, and Holkham, Norfolk. The family's estates lay principally in Derbyshire, Lancashire and Suffolk, and the majority of documents relate to these counties. Documents include letters, memoranda, leases, etc. There are also many fine seals.

The manuscripts will be on indefinite loan to the John Ryland University Library, Deansgate, Manchester, M3 3EH.

The owner's binding undertakings
1. We undertake with respect to the Manuscripts, that during our lifetime or until it is disposed of whether by sale or gift or otherwise: (a) to keep the Manuscripts, as a Collection, permanently in the United Kingdom and not to remove it temporarily except for a purpose and a period approved by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC); (b) to take reasonable steps for its preservation; (c) to take the following steps to secure reasonable access to the public (i) the Manuscripts will be on indefinite loan to the John Ryland University Library, Deansgate, Manchester, M3 3EH ("the Library") (ii) if the loan to the Library is terminated by the Library, we shall agree with HMRC alternative arrangements for providing the public with access to the Manuscripts.
