The paintings will be on loan to the American Museum in Bath for a period of 8 months every five years starting from 2018 and by appointment at all other times.

The owner's binding undertakings

1. I undertake with respect to the paintings, that during my lifetime or until it is disposed of whether by sale or gift or otherwise: (a) to keep the paintings, as a Collection, permanently in the United Kingdom and not to remove it temporarily except for a purpose and a period approved by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC); (b) to take reasonable steps for its preservation; (c) to take the following steps to secure reasonable access to the public (i) the paintings will be on loan to the American Museum in Bath for a period of 8 months every five years starting from 2018 ("the loan arrangement") and by appointment at all other times. (ii) if the loan arrangement is terminated by the American Museum, I shall agree with HMRC alternative arrangements for providing public access.
