Access

Directions: By road: On the A428. From the M1, 7 miles via Junction 16 or 10 miles via Junction 18. By rail: 5 miles from Northampton or 14 miles from Rugby. Access to the house and park is via the West Lodge (see map). Althorp House, with access to the gardens and tourist facilities in the Stable Block, and as shown on the map is open to the public on not less than 60 days per year. The owner's binding undertakings

Schedule 1: All that property known as Althorp House, gardens and stable block shown edged red on the attached Plan 1. Schedule 2: In pursuance of our undertaking to maintain repair and preserve the property described in Schedule 1 and to secure reasonable public access we undertake as follows:- 1. (a) To maintain Althorp House and its interior in good condition with due regard to their historic importance (b) To eradicate any dry and wet rot and any major beetle infestations (c) To repair roofs and rainwater goods in permanent and suitable materials (d) To repair stonework (in appropriate matching stone) and brickwork insofar as repairs are necessary to protect the fabric of the building (e) To repair and repaint or treat external woodwork (f) To carry out repairs necessary to maintain the historic interiors. 2.
