A Collection of portraits of the Andersons of Northfield Family who played a distinguished role in Scottish History. The portraits dating from 17th Century include works by Sir John Medina, George Engleheart, John Thomas Seaton, Richard Cosway and Lemuel Francis Abbott.
Access
The collection can be seen (by guided tour) as part of the Doors Open Day scheme, organised by the Scottish Civic Trust in September each year. For further details of participation and opening times see the attached link. At all other times, access to the collection is available by prior appointment through the contact shown.

The owner's binding undertakings
1. I undertake, with respect to the Collection, that during my lifetime or until it or any part of it is earlier disposed of whether by sale or gift or otherwise: (a) to keep the Collection, as a Collection, permanently in the United Kingdom and not to remove it temporarily except for a purpose and a period approved by HM Revenue & Customs ("HMRC"); (b) to take reasonable steps for the preservation of the Collection and each of its constituents; (c) to take the following steps to secure reasonable access to the public: (i) formally to participate each year in the Doors Open Day scheme presently run by the Scottish Civic Trust over various dates in and around September each year (" the DOD scheme"); (ii) providing each year under the auspices of the DOD scheme two tours, one in the morning and one in the afternoon (" the DOD tours") of those rooms in Northfield in which the Collectio…
